Jewish wedding full of traditions in Cernobbio.
This marriage united a young couple who, despite living in London, wanted to celebrate their wedding in Italy. The day began with the meeting in the Camino room, one of the rooms of the ancient villa of Villa Erba, where the rabbis, witnesses and family members of the bride and the groom sat around a table to witness the signing of the Ketubah, the document that establishes the Jewish wedding agreement. The guests, previously greeted by a welcome drink, were invited to reach the ceremony area, settled in the park. The Chuppah, set up with splendid floral decorations, was the stage for this beautiful union.
The ceremony began with the procession of the groom’s family, followed by that of the bride’s bridesmaids, and then ended with her arrival, accompanied by her parents. The ritual continued as per tradition, with the songs of the rabbis and the gentle music of a string quartet in the background. After the function, the guests enjoyed an aperitif in the Darsena area, facing the splendid panorama of the lake and accompanied by the musical notes of the musicians. When dinner time came, the guests headed towards the Pavilion of Villa Erba, with the band stage set up in the center of the room and a dance floor for the party.
The dinner continued between musical intervals, first of all the hora dance, a dance in which the couple are hoisted into the air by their guests while they are sitting on chairs, and various speeches by family and friends. After the cutting of the cake in the gardens of the villa and a show of luminous fountains, our bride and groom and their 160 guests returned to the Pavilion to continue their dances until late.
Daniela was able to accommodate our ideas and requests, she supported us all along the organization, among ups and downs. Finally, today, I can say that our wedding was like a true fairy tale.
