Stunning wedding at Villa Carminati Resta on Lake Como

Dusty rose, flower-filled tables and a celebration to share

Some weddings bring together the pleasure of a beautiful celebration and the joy of gathering far from home with the people who matter most. This wedding at Villa Carminati Resta brought around 100 guests to Lake Como to share a day with the couple that began at the Church of Santa Maria Immacolata in Origgio and continued in the gardens and reception rooms of the villa.

The white flowers of the ceremony, the dusty rose tables and the blush tones of the floral arrangements accompanied the different moments of the day. The opportunities to spend time together made the reception especially engaging: vintage music during the aperitivo, a spritz toast, speeches over dinner and a cake assembled with the couple in front of their guests. Later, the pace changed, with a DJ and saxophonist in the loft and a party that continued late into the evening.

The anticipation and a first look at the villa

The day began at Villa Cardinal Ciceri in San Fermo della Battaglia, with the bridesmaids, groomsmen and those closest to the couple. Between hair styling, make-up and the final touches to the dress, the preparations gave way to a moment just for the bride and groom: their first look at the private villa, before leaving for the church.

The bride wore a strapless white gown with a structured bodice and a full skirt, paired with a bouquet in the soft shades chosen for the reception. Beside her, the groom’s ivory jacket and dark bow tie created a bright, elegant pairing. The bridesmaids’ pink dresses introduced the reception palette, with a softness echoed in the flowers.

Before joining their guests, the couple took time for portraits together and photographs with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. The images of this first encounter capture a quieter side of the wedding, when the anticipation still belongs to the couple and the people beside them.

The ceremony at the Church of Santa Maria Immacolata

The Parish Church of Santa Maria Immacolata in Origgio dates back to the sixteenth century and has been enlarged over the centuries. Its façade and columned portico lead into an interior with a central nave and two side aisles, adorned with frescoes and a polychrome marble altar. A setting rich in colour and decoration for a solemn ceremony.

Two soft arrangements of white flowers and greenery wrapped around the entrance columns, welcoming the guests. Inside, generous cascading bouquets on alternate pews traced the path towards the altar. The white flowers allowed the colours and decorations of the church to stand out, creating a luminous setting around the couple.

The sound of violin, viola and cello accompanied the entrances and the key moments of the service. Following the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the bride walked down the aisle on her father’s arm: a moment that made the celebration even more personal, in front of the guests gathered for her and the groom. The readings, entrusted to two family members, also brought the presence of loved ones into the ceremony.

After the service, the guests travelled to Como for the reception. The intimate atmosphere of the church gave way to the pleasure of celebrating together, with the lake welcoming the second part of the day.

A wedding at Villa Carminati Resta between gardens and lake-view rooms

Villa Carminati Resta is an eighteenth-century residence overlooking Lake Como in Borgo Vico. Its lakeside garden, colonnade and bright reception rooms offer different perspectives on the landscape, as guests move between the outdoor spaces and the villa’s interiors. The courtyard and loft complete the experience, giving the party a more contemporary setting.

In the garden and ground-floor rooms, the aperitivo brought guests together for conversation, toasts and live music. A band performing vintage Italian songs gave the welcome a cheerful rhythm, while the couple enjoyed a few portraits among the columns and views of the lake.

Their entrance into the aperitivo area was celebrated with a spritz toast, before the dedicated station opened. It marked the beginning of a reception designed to involve everyone: the photo booth invited guests to pose together, while an artist worked on a portrait of the couple. A surprise that would be revealed later, after the cake cutting.

Dinner in dusty rose with floral runners

Dinner welcomed the guests into three rooms on the upper floor, where long banquet tables followed the lines of the interiors. Two long tables occupied the central room, while two more were arranged in the adjoining rooms. The light from the chandeliers, the dusty rose linens and the abundance of flowers gave the reception a romantic elegance, revealed in greater detail as guests approached the tables.

Continuous runners made entirely of flowers stretched along the tables, weaving together white, cream, champagne and delicate blush shades. The arrangements were full and soft, with blooms of different shapes alternating along their length. From one place setting to the next, the flowers created an uninterrupted design that made even the long banquet tables feel welcoming.

Dusty rose tablecloths and napkins were paired with cream charger plates and bread plates with a lace-effect pattern. Crystal glasses caught the reflections of candles in taupe, dusty rose and blush, set in holders of varying heights. Every detail of the table setting was considered, with the light adding warmth to the shades of the fabrics and flowers.

The couple’s entrance opened dinner, followed by speeches from the people who mattered most to them. The words dedicated to the bride and groom gave the evening an intimate feel, even with so many guests attending. Background music accompanied the courses, leaving room for conversation and toasts.

The cake assembled live and the couple’s portrait

After dinner, everyone gathered in the garden for the cake cutting overlooking the lake. The cake was assembled in front of the guests, and the couple joined in the final stages, adding fruit and completing the decoration. A playful show in which they took centre stage together, making the moment even more spontaneous and engaging.

Small vases with single flowers at different heights decorated the table, echoing the reception palette. Around the couple, sparklers accompanied the toast and their words of thanks: an opportunity to address everyone who had travelled to the lake to share their celebration.

Immediately afterwards, the portrait painted during the day was unveiled. Seeing themselves captured in a painting added a surprise to the reception and gave the couple a keepsake to take home alongside their photographs.

The loft party with a DJ and saxophonist

In the loft, the wedding party entered ahead of the couple, opening the evening celebrations. The bouquet toss, first dance and dances with the parents brought the couple and their loved ones together once more, before the DJ and saxophonist invited everyone onto the dance floor.

For the party, the bride chose a second dress, marking the change of pace with a new look. Coloured lights and the open bar transformed the loft into a lively space, while the photo booth continued to capture images of the guests. The celebration had taken on a more relaxed atmosphere, filled with music and time to enjoy together.

In the courtyard, the dessert buffet and gelato cart offered a break between dances, with pizza arriving later in the evening. The final moments of this wedding at Villa Carminati Resta held on to the same wish that had shaped the whole day: to share every moment with loved ones, from entering the church to the last dance. The elegance of the tables and the villa framed what made the celebration special: the joy of the couple and their guests in experiencing it together.

Their attention to detail, professionalism, and friendly approach really made the difference. We’re so grateful to Daniela and Francesca for their support!
