Ceremony at the Abbey of San Galgano, followed by the reception at Tenuta L’Impostino
This young American couple with Asian origins fell madly in love with the Abbey of San Galgano and therefore decided to celebrate their love in the enchanting setting of Tuscany.
The Abbey of San Galgano is a Gothic church from the 13th century and is a true icon of Tuscany. Its peculiarity is in fact the missing roof, and it is immersed in the classic and bucolic Tuscan landscape: rows of cypress trees, wonderful hills and vineyards.
Only the walls and the apse remain of the church, and the atmosphere that you breathe is truly fascinating.
Having chosen the end of October for their wedding, unfortunately the weather was not on our side. In fact, it rained the whole time but this was not entirely a shame as it gave us the opportunity to set up the ceremony in the splendid Sala Capitolare, the ancient room where the monks originally gathered to deliberate.
The colors chosen were a sumptuous mix of burgundy, shades of peach and apricot flowers, a touch of pampas, all framed by olive and eucalyptus leaves. Two pairs of columns with Medici vases served as the backdrop to this moving symbolic ceremony, celebrated by the Mayor of the Municipality of Chiusdino, as per tradition of the Abbey of San Galgano, and by the interpreter who translated the function to the approximately 80 guests.
At the end of the ceremony, lulled by the notes of an elegant string trio composed of violin, harp and cello, the guests enjoyed the visit to the Abbey, which despite the rain left them all breathless. Outside the main entrance there was then the classic throwing of rice and immediately afterwards, while the newlyweds enjoyed a photoshoot in the magnificent church, the guests headed towards the reception.
The reception was organized at a typical Tuscan venue, Tenuta L’Impostino, an ancient stone farmhouse located in Maremma, immersed in the quiet of the Tuscan countryside. Guests were welcomed by an excellent aperitif in the courtyard and the lovely rhythm of the saxophonist. Dinner was held in the ancient stable, whose ceiling was embellished with a blanket of fairy lights. Two long imperial tables decorated with runners of vases and candles, full of flowers and candelabras. As a gift for the guests, artisanal fruit jams.
The delicious dinner with typical local food then left room for the cutting of the cake, a delicious nude fruit cake, framed by luminous fountains. After the first dances and the tossing of the bouquet, everyone let loose in the dances, enjoying in the meantime the dessert buffet and the ice cream cart.
Truly a magical experience for the bride, the groom and their guests, who in addition to the wedding day enjoyed a pizza party the day before, an excellent brunch the day after and an afternoon of typical Italian activities such as the pasta masterclass with the preparation of fresh tagliatelle and tortelli and a wine tasting.
We had an incredible experience working with SugarEvents! From the very beginning, Daniela was super responsive. Her recommendations and ideas were spot-on, and we had complete trust in her. Everything turned out way better than we expected.
