Impressive Indian Wedding in Tuscany at Borgo San Felice

Lavanya Tripathi and Varun Tej Konidela’s Indian wedding

The famous Tollywood actors Varun Tej Konidela and Lavanya Tripathi chose the splendid Tuscany as the location of their Indian wedding and as the romantic setting for their union. Together with their families and friends they experienced unforgettable days.

Hosting this long-awaited event was Borgo San Felice, a 5-star resort immersed in the heart of Chianti, in Tuscany, a land of wine and traditions. It is a real medieval village where you can breathe the magic of the past combined with the comforts of the present. Inside Borgo San Felice in fact there are still the old chapel, the cellars, the alleys that once led to the school, the bakery and the village oil mill.

The first official ceremony was Haldi, a rite preceding the wedding where a mixture of turmeric, oil and water is prepared and applied to the bride and groom by family members. A sacred and intense moment, but also full of joy and sharing. For the occasion, long colored flower garlands were placed on the trees of the olive grove and various baskets full of petals.

In the afternoon the Mehndi began, the first of the moments of the wedding which took place inside an impressive 360 m2 marquee with wooden floor which we had set up to accommodate the 120 guests and which we were able to decorate and adorn as we wanted, taking into consideration the theme and moodboard of each event.

Mehndi is the very famous ceremony where henna is applied to the hands and feet of the bride and the invited women. For Lavanya we set up a station consisting of a splendid sofa surrounded by a majestic flower composition that was an enchanting backdrop. The marquee was transformed into a real indoor ‘culinary market’, as there were food carts of every Indian delight. The corner dedicated to mehndi artists was made up of splendid rugs, rattan poufs and sofas and colorful cushions.

The ceiling of the marquee was strewn with lanterns and the imperial tables decorated with a mise en place set up with wonderful flower arrangements, rattan baskets and candles. A truly magical atmosphere. The party then continued until late at night and the guests had a lot of fun accompanied by the energy of an Indian DJ.

The next day was the actual wedding day of Lavanya and Varun. The first ritual of the day was the Baraat, the groom’s wedding procession which consists of a festive march in which the men proceed towards the women. The groom was aboard a vintage Porsche and in front of him were the dhol players, percussion instruments similar to drums that released an overwhelming energy, surrounded by the dancing of those present.

The ceremony took place in the main square of Borgo San Felice, where we mounted the Mandap, the canopy built specifically for the wedding, composed of four splendid columns and decorated with colorful floral compositions, embellished with elegant veils. Lavanya was disarmingly beautiful and the ceremony took place following all the traditional rites.

To close the dance of this splendid wedding a sumptuous dinner, again set up in the marquee, this time choosing floral compositions arranged on high centerpieces and gold candelabras. Gold was the protagonist’s color immersed in various shades of pink. A stage dedicated to the performance of a ten-piece band was mounted in the marquee, surmounted by an imposing statue of an elephant hanging in the center of the dance floor. The event then continued until late at night with the participation of an Indian DJ.

Lavanya Tripathi and Varun Tej Konidela’s wedding was full of love, joy and fun that allowed their guests to discover the wonderful hospitality of Tuscany and of Italy.

Daniela was super resourceful, and incredibly thoughtful, always looking at things from our perspective as the couple. Having her as our planner was a real blessing. And let me tell you, our wedding? It left everyone speechless, all thanks to her magic touch!
